Glow Sticks
Surprise is like a glow stick
Living a normal life
Abruptly taken from my family
Forced into restrictive wear
Cracked in every place imaginable
Checked for every imperfection left
Never expected for this to happen
Living my peaceful life
Then being sold, bought, and abused
Just for an hour of shine
Don’t my feelings matter?
As a child, I was always told “Inner beauty shines out”
But I guess that was just a lie
They only want me for my outer beauty
Killing me for their own pleasure
Just to throw me away in the end
But it’s like I said, “surprise is a glow stick”
I was just a little unexpecting glow stick
Living a happy normal life
To be taken and used
Then left for dead
