The galaxy is wide
Infinite
Full of life
And Infinite Wisdom
Yet every single being is different
Individual
From a blade of grass
To a mighty dragon
Our world's infinite diversity
We connect with hundreds every day
Interacting
And barely realize it
All the people we pass in the halls
Or on the streets
A changing mix of color
Light
and Sound
I once heard a phrase
In a show full of possibilities
Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations
A call to respect others
And acknowledge
The luminous beings
Who we pass in the hallway
Infinitely

I'm Louisa, and I'm a senior in high school. This piece was inspired by one of my absolute favorite things, Star Trek. I am the secretary for my school's literary magazine and book club. I'm also the color guard captain and a thespian. This piece is also being published in my school's literary magazine later this year!
