it's been you
it's always been you
when we walked through the park
to find a bathroom
and ended up with smile-pained cheeks
and toes squished by rollerskates,
i knew.
each time you drew spirals or infinity signs,
flowers and hearts, on your hand
i knew.
every crazy picture
every secret smile
every hug in the hallway
became our narrative.
i knew it was you
when i took a secret picture
of you asleep in the morning cold,
rosy cheeks and tiny smile.
it's been you
since i saw you isolated in a glitchy box
your smile glowing from another country
and your name shining like a star
forever pinned in my sky.
those days when i stared across the room
those nights when your head rested on my shoulder
the way our pinkies interlocked
became memories i scrolled through.
you're the moon to my earth.
