Drowning, drowning in a place with no water. How is that so?

It seemed as if she was counting down the days until she finally sank

Time felt so slow

Fighting, fighting against a tide that wasn’t even there

Coming up for air only to sink further down

It was all too much

And with the silence and water closing in

she drowned
