2022 Traditions Contest: Dinners with Mom
We never see each other anymore.
She’s always so busy.
But every two weeks
We make time for each other
Every two weeks we
Catch up over food.
Different people.
Different foods.
Different flavors.
All types of restaurants.
We sit in booths-
Sometimes side by side
Sometimes opposite each other.
Round tables,
Square tables,
Outside,
Inside.
Late nights-
Hot Pot, out until 11pm.
Early nights-
Buffalo Wild Wings, shopping at the mall.
We finally get to catch up.
Talk about life
And we eat surf and turf.
Talk about school
And we eat sandwiches.
I hope this tradition
Keeps going.
