Never feeling satisfied with my fortunate life

Satisfaction is fulfillment of one's wishes

How could anyone feel fulfilled when there’s so much more to be wanted

I long for something more

But it feels like I just relive everyday

I lay in my bed at night questioning why frustration fills my body

Are there literal things that are negatively impacting me?

Is it all in my head?

Devoted family

Thoughtful friends

Inspiring teachers and coaches

What else could I ask for

Happiness comes like seasons

You enjoy the beginning but it all comes to an end

Happiness is temporary

Even with all my loved ones surrounding me

My heart whispers, “I am alone”

The author's comments:

My name is Anna and I am taking a Creative Writing class this semester. This class has taught me to become a much more honest writer. It has also taught me how to portray what I am feeling and make it a beautiful piece of writing. I give all of my thanks to my teacher who has been supportive when teaching me how to become a better writer. My portfolio is a set of pieces that show the raw, genuine feelings throughout different situations. Throughout my writing experiences, I have noticed that I have written the best when I feel the slightest discomfort about the topic. I think this is because when I am not quite sure how to show my emotions through words I could put them on a piece of paper. I started writing when I was younger, writing in journals. Writing in my journals helped me express emotions without having to talk about them. For example, in my last piece my family faces a battle that is difficult to come to my senses about. Once you read it, you will realize the difficulties that my family and I had to go through. However, writing has helped me resurface feelings that I have had trouble with. In this portfolio, I go through a journey starting with confusing emotions, then through a fantasy, then a tough family struggle. I hope you enjoy the experience, this will take you on the vast life lessons that will be taught after reading my portfolio.
