Sisyphus
I am a modern-day Sisyphus.
Condemned to push a boulder Monday through Friday.
The only fleeting moment of rest I have are Saturdays,
Before I have to watch the boulder roll down the hill on Sunday,
And start again the next day.
I push, I strive,
For that one moment of rest,
Before I go again.
I wonder if I'm getting used to this cycle,
As the boulder seems lighter by the day.
But why then do I still dream of breaking this cycle?
When is it my turn to be Hercules?
Maybe this is my punishment for the actions that I’ve done,
To push and push again.

Growing up, I've always loved mythology.
Now I'm applying for university, doing adult stuff and being slowly crushed by the burdens of modern life. While this is about myself and dealing with stress, the boulder can virtually relate to anything to anyone, becoming almost a mirror to others' issues.
