Being Myself
A facade.
A wall.
A barrier.
A blockade that goes down with the “flick” of the lights.
A dam full of joy breaks open and I’m not rushing to rebuild it.
A leap of faith to not be apologetic.
The stage lights are like my sunrise and sunset.
The catwalks and “Batcave” are my mountains.
The stage is my home.
They can’t see that part of me.
They can’t notice the difference.
They will make fun of you.
A drug I can’t get enough of.
A rush of dopamine I want on repeat.
A withdrawal when I leave.
A facade.
A wall.
A barrier.
I just want to be myself.
