Thoughts of a Romantic
No one sees the beauty in the sea
Until they’ve loved a hurricane
Raging wind and pounding sky
Thinking this is love when all you do is die
But those who’ve burned in volcanoes
And suffocated in tornadoes
Those who’ve married themselves to wildfire
And bathed in acid rain
Know the pain
Of falling for darkness
Over favor of a good thing
This is the fault—
Not in our stars—
But in our hearts
We find the bad in all the good
And search for light where no one should
