poor girl
Her hair was thinning
The flame that you could always see in her was flickering
When people looked at her
All they thought was
“Poor Girl”
But that’s not how she wanted to be remembered
That’s not the image she wanted people to see
When we think of her now as we make posts,
“Poor Girl”
She was anything but
People do anything to normalize,
“People die”
But her face is engraved in our memory
The pity of her public school was minimal
They donated to a hospital she didn’t go to
Taped her name to it
“Poor Girl”
She was bold and funny
“That One Girl”
She has a name
It deserves to be spoken
“Kennedy”
