Fire and Water
He was like drowning,
Every time you broke the surface for a gasp of air
You were pushed back under.
She was like fire,
Every time you got too close – too memorized by her beauty
You were burned to a crisp
And everyone knows that fire and water don’t mix,
Everyone knows that fire and water cancel each other out
But somehow, someway
These two were perfect in ways beyond belief
They changed each other for the better not for the worse
They loved each other even when everything hurt
They trusted each other in ways others could only dream of
But it was the death of the boy which put out the girls flame
She no longer shined as bright,
No longer became a force to be reckoned with
She knew her lover was scolding her from above,
Shaking his head in disappointment while wanting her to live on
But she didn’t, she couldn’t live without her partner in crime
So soon enough she gave up.
She looked to the sky, tears streaming down her face once again
And it was only when she put out her own flame did, she feel happy.
She put out her own flame to become whole,
She put out her own flame for him.
