my favorite color as a kid was blue
my blue was inspiring
my blue was peaceful
my blue was love’s red
my favorite emotion as a kid was happiness
my happiness was shared
my happiness was always there
my favorite expression as a kid was laughter
my laughter was contagious
my laughter was genuine
my favorite color as a young adult is red
my red is overthinking
my red is frustration
my red is Picasso's blue
my favorite emotion as a young adult is hopelessness
my hopelessness is suppressed
my hopelessness never leaves
my favorite expression as a young adult is crying
my crying confounds
my crying is real

Suddenly, my favorite color of my entire life changed, and it caused me to realize all the occurring changes within myself. Although as I read this poem again, I realize change is normal, no matter if negative or positive. I know that one day in the future, my favorite color will be blue again. It might also be red, and then a completely other color like green.
The image is one of Picasso's blue pieces, but I edited it to be closer to red.
