the raw emotion

of an innocent autumn

guided by a whisper of wind

heading into a merciless winter

a mountain overlooking the universe

obstructing the view of stars

tasked with climbing the impossible

only hardship awaits

a steady pace wins the race

the lie that caused me to fall

one week

two weeks

one month

two months

and time never rests

fighting an inner storm

swirling riot of ice

a lingering flame still burns brightly

giving up is not an option

pushing past limits

on the verge of collapsing

desperate to finish it all

hungry for the view from the top

climbing

and climbing

and climbing

enough to see stars

amongst the vast unknown

a piton to keep moving forward

one deep breath

a blanket of catharsis envelopes me

the weight of melancholy prickles

chased by a whistling void inside

flickering flame

burnt out

My Creative Writing teacher forced our class to write 19 poetry techniques into one poem. I didn't like our assignment and did whatever. This is the result. (I got full points by the way).
