Ego
It’s hard to talk to god when you feel like snoopy with his shades on
Or snoop dog smokin’ in public with all twenty, thirty chains on
It’s like you’re at harvard with a bunch of underacheivers
And she keeps saying you’re the best so you start to believe her
You still know god’s number one but perhaps you’re a close second
But his word works against you, and the devil starts to beckon
He lets you continue your life of great riches and fame
And it’s ok to listen because god’s the one to blame
He made you in his image but won’t let you live up to it
He wants to use you for his plan like strings and you’re a puppet
So you feel yourself starting to drift further and further away
And you don’t want to stop yourself because this games too fun to play
Thats how your chains can get tangled in the clouds
And your shades get all fogged up, your vision enshroud

To me this poem is about overconfidence and god complex and how this level of extreme pride can drive one away from god.
