AWARD
My coach gave it to the best player of the game.
I was awarded it.
I hit the softball over the left fielder's head.
I start to run as fast as I can, while still tracking where the ball went.
I stepped on first base and turned left to see if I could advance.
That second base was screaming my name.
I start sprinting towards second base.
My right foot interacts with the base.
I feel amazing,
Excitement is pouring out of me,
I made it two bases,
I get the most important aspect of the game,
Something we can't play without,
The game ball.

Softball is something that has been with me my entire life. I have trained for softball, I have hardwork and detication behind every swing and every throw I do. When I am on the field, I feel like its only me and I can get my emotions out that I have been hiding in. My stress, anxiety, anger but yet I feel happy, excited and energized. This poem was just a moment of something I did good and something my coach thought I did good too. I am usually only a one base maybe two base hitter, but this moment, I got two bases and I felt great. I like to celebrate when I get a good hit in a game. I feel alive and healthy when I play softball. I feel myself.
