Caged Freedom
I try to live my own life
but sometimes
I feel trapped
like, “a bird that stalks
down a narrow cage
can seldom see
through [my] bars
of rage [my]
wings are clipped
and [my] feet are tied”
So then I fight
with all of my might
but I get tired after
no one hears
my cries.
So I sit alone
in my cage
waiting impatiently
and hoping
to be set free.
All I want
is to be
Free

This poem is about feeling trapped in your own skin. And everything around you is just caging you and forcing you to be someone that your not. Not allowing you to be yourself, also not being free to make your own choices and live your life the way you want to. I suffer from anxiety and depression and my family has completely shuned me out and basically locked me up and threw away the key but thats how it's been my whole life. So this poem reflects my true feelings on life.
