A BOY
A boy from Hastings, Michigan
Whose mother taught him to love everyone
Whose father taught him to hate alcohol
Good willed but burdened by the real world
Strong like his mother
Wearing his heart on his sleeves
Fighting an endless battle
Dark and empty roads pave the way
Guided by the ones who are no more
Reaching nothing but the sky
Good willed but burdened by the real world
A boy from nothing
Whose mother taught him to be at peace
Whose father showed him pain
A boy from Hastings, Michigan
