My Mother

My mother, a woman warm and wild and wonderful,

My mother, someone stronger than stone.

Brave, Confident, Effortless and Outgoing,

With her love, she infects the world.

Her heart, her heart is more precious than gold,

And her smile warms my soul.

But what you may not know or see, what she thinks she can hide,

When times are cold and hard,

She suffers in silence,

Being blamed and blamed, then blaming herself,

Blimey! The blame is relentlesss.

Her fragile face flakes away and she fights to stay strong.

She suffers in silence, she thinks she can hide it,

But, I feel her tears in my eyes,

And her lump in my kneck,

Her pain penetrates my chest.

... But she's ...

My mother, a woman warm and wild and wonderful,

My mother, someone stronger than stone.

Parents are expencted to be superheroes, they're expected to have known and seen it all. But really behind their facade, they are just like the rest of us.
