Sharing the Sky
Each night the sun sets,
Disappearing off the edge of the earth,
Leaving the world in darkness.
But in that darkness,
The moon rises and stars fill the sky.
The moonlight glows through my window,
Letting night time spill into my room.
I’m comforted by the silence:
The piercing quiet,
Which speaks to me at the same time.
It feels as if I’m the only soul on the planet,
But we all fall asleep under the same sky.
