Ghost Of A Memory
The memories of you are like a ghost that is haunting me
with the songs you used to sing as the soundtrack of the memory
and the jokes you used to say taking the lead of it.
The ghost of you
Is always reminding,
always in my mind.
Sometimes I’m not sure being reminded of you is a good thing,
because at first, all I saw was red when I thought of you.
I was mad at you for leaving me,
mad at you for doing something you were warned about,
and I was angry that I was mad at you, to begin with.
Then I felt this mind-numbing sadness and
now the pictures of you are in a box hiding away under my bed
the colors slowly fading away just like the memory of your laugh.
Now I miss you and all I have is the ghost of you haunting me.
You’re haunting me but you’re not tangible
I can’t touch you or hear you and all I have is my memories of you.
The characters in the books remind me of you,
and now when that song comes on you used to sing,
and the jokes you used to tell gets brought up
I can smile now knowing that you’re no longer a ghost haunting my memories,
but an angel always there watching over me.
I’m grateful that I got to spend time with you,
and I wish you were here but I’m glad that you're home with the other angels.
