Legacy

I was born into chains, so I must fight to be free

I may not be right but death is better than bondage.

It doesn’t matter who is right, but who decides that.

Who is righteous enough to judge my actions.

For you are on one side and I another

If we both believe we are right   who decides who prevails

I’ve learned to love through this never ending war.

And through this I  learned that Love breeds hatred.

Hatred and Anger is born protecting love and a desire for peace.

Peace is only temporary, for humans are greedy.

That is what I thought… but now

I’ve learned that the selfish and futile attempt to preserve peace sparks bloodshed.

For when one must be put on a pedestal to Play God,... to Judge.

That attempt to preserve peace festers hatred, Jealousy, and Resentment

So what do I do… is life meant to be just pain, suffering, and hurt.

I refuse “Life” then

I will cultivate those who would come after me to whom I can entrust my dreams.

I will begin the legacy that will follow those i have entrusted my dreams to.

There will be no nation like mine,

We will not discriminate because of Culture

We will not discriminate because of Love

And we will not discriminate because of Race

Our diversity will propel us forward

For with new problems rises new solutions

And with new solutions comes a new way to live.
