Lowering my standards just to feel something in me

Had it in my hands but nothing felt to fit me

Now im changing up the system making it more fair

Girl you look so perfect can't help it but to stare

What would be a world if you lived without a care

Stomach always full but you still feelin empty

Would you end it all just cause days been feeling tricky?

From Mrs. V “You have potential”

Wouldn't that be nice

Living feeling happy instead of a heart filled with ice

Now I'm on the line fill my soul with all these lies

All of these words meant for one pair of eyes

Wonder if you read it or i'm writing them for no one

Just give me a sign i can't help cutting these lines

Can't help writing these lines

But you still give me time

Or maybe when I dream of us your onto the next guy

I've given you, my energy

Can I heal?, my mind was free

Now you're gone, why'd you leave

I'm seeing you in my dreams

I've given you, my energy

Can I heal?, my mind was free

Now you're gone, why'd you leave

I'm seeing you in my dreams

The author's comments:

This poem sums up a lot about how I felt during my junior year of highschool. It's funny because I'm a senior now and I felt the lowest I had ever been mentally my junior year but, somehow because of spending time with one person, I would go back in an instant and I wouldnt change what happened for the world.

The universe must be a teenage girl. So much darkness, so many stars.<br /> --me

Very cool and precise insights. Two thumbs up.
