I share my name

Like its light and

Use it to find light

I am far from polished

Farther from pristine

But you can't tell

That I can't be Queen

Because my name means wife

It also means gazelle

It means a keeper of peace

But quiet

doesn't always mean peace

I merge mercy with might

And use my might to make right

My name rhymes with Athena

The goddess of wisdom

Of war and strategy

My name proves

my right to godhood

My mother knew

I was unique

I was the sun

But the sun

Is also

just

a star

She told me:

Be the best

Show them who you are

Dress properly

people judge from the first glance

Born from darkness

You put the light into my world

My little girl

My father knew people would see me different

He knew I would be the best

He knew I would show up

On the top of the world

I am much like my father

When I close my eyes

there is always weight

pushing them open

“Be better”

“Be better”

“Be better”

The mantra I chant as I step forward

“Be better”

“Be better”

“Be better”

The things I yell at my mirror

“Be better”

“Be better”

“Be better”

My name means vermillion

The color of red

On married women's foreheads

The color of the blood

Upon which

my homeland was built

My name means aspara

The Hindu angels that come down to earth

My name means splendor

finery

richness

But I know from the start

I was Adamantium

Nothing can break me
