I’m from many different areas

From north to south and east and west

From packing our bags and making a new place our home

Taking our house with us as we strutted to a new town

From goodbyes to a place we once called home

And from friends gathered around saying their farewells

I'm from barefooted kids running on the street

And knowing friends from around the globe

I’m from getting frustrated during family Uno

From cowardly denying defeat in chess

I'm from sitting down for what felt like hours

And standing up with a new hairstyle

From hand me downs until it wear downs

And matching with my siblings with a frown

From twins and sisters and brothers and cousins

And friends that felt as close as family

I'm from loud mouths chewing while chatting

And a big family gathered around a new table

Biking around the streets with friends id never see again

Clumsily bumping into stuff, while laughing at

a joke we’d all forgotten about.

This is about my family and I wrote it for English class inspired by "Where I'm From" By George Ella
