Where there’s a life there’s a story and let me tell ya I’ve got some stories to tell-Luke Carlton

Hey momma
Its alright
it's okay
I'll be on my way
Moons setting up the sun goes down
All I have is this big ol frown
Its alright
Its okay
I know imma be okay
But momma it’s not a phase
This is me
This is how I am
Hey momma what do I do now
Hey momma I wonder if you can still hear me
Can you see me momma
Up there
While I’m down here
It’s alright momma
It’s ok
I’ll stay down here until it’s my day to leave
I’ll be on my way when it’s time
But for now it’s not a phase I am who I am
You raised me that way
I’ll take care of it all momma
You stay up there
I’ll be around another day
The moons setting up the sun is setting down
All I own is this big ole frown
I try to drown the memories
It’s not a phase momma
You were wrong about that
You raised me the good way
I just chose my own way
It’s alright
It’s ok
But momma it’s not a phase
I guess I’ll live this way for the rest of my days
But momma you were wrong
It’s not a phase
Hey momma I’m doing good
I went to rehab and now I’m dry
Hey momma
I met this beautiful girl
She loves me and I love her
Hey momma youll never guess this but I’m getting married
Momma your gonna be a grandma
We’re haveing twins
Hey momma
You were right it’s not easy raising kids
Momma guess what they graduated elementary school
It’s sad but it’s true
Hey momma
We had our first big fight
She’s staying the night at her mothers
Hey momma I’m broken
She wants a divorce
She took the kids and all that was in the house
Hey momma you were right it was a phase but now I’m slipping back into it
Hey momma
the kids Graduated high school
Momma guess what I gave up drinking for good
Hey momma I love you
Momma guess what the kids want to live with me
Hey momma is there a place up there for me
Momma I’m doing good again
I finally broke down and sold the old truck and got a new one
I also fixed that swirly door you always complained about and I completely remodeled the house
Hey momma I’m real sick
Momma I don’t have much time
Save a spot for me up there
Hey momma the cancer is gone I’ll live many more days
Hey momma the twins graduated college and they both got married
Hey momma your gonna be a great grandma and I’m gonna be a grandad
Hey momma
Hey momma
Momma
I love you
Save a spot for me
Momma
I hope you can still hear and see me I’m sitting under the oak tree we planted together
Hey momma I wish you were here to watch the Moon set up and the sun fall down it’s beautiful momma
Momma
I love you

This piece tells a story of a son that lost a mother and is dealing with his life by telling it to her out loud that he misses her and that he's dealing with a lot, as he grows older he realizes his mother was right. My name is Luke and I have wrote 550+ country songs and poems in the last year, I am submitting some of my work to see if it is good enough for publishers, I am 18 and from a rural town in middle Tennessee. I hope to pursue my dreams and one day have my songs on the top charts, thank you for looking at my work.
