Colorblind Depression

I guess I’d prefer to be colorblind;

The grass greener on the other side.

Neither color bright enough

To break through the numb.

My little sister’s in love with frogs and flowers;

I can barely hold back from being overpowered.

Her heart is too big to be broken;

There’s mine, forsaken.

I wish I simply couldn’t see the pigment

Instead of being indifferent.

My fruits of emotion picked bare while the rest died

Until only blackbirds reside.
