That Glorious Night on the Eiffel Tower

I still remember that glorious night on the Eiffel tower,

It was just you and I.

For that night only,

The world was at peace.

Neither struggle nor strife strangled that moment.

I still remember the marvellous moon in full view,

Smooching its wonderful rays on the bustling Parisian streets.

The sleepless stars were gazing down upon us,

Crafting little curtains of light so heaven could see through.

The blissful blackbirds were perching on the sides,

Singing a most melodious song to ward away the silence.

The whispering wind settled down upon us,

Protecting us from any objection that tried to murder our bond.

The nonchalant night sky quietly listened on,

Fondling us with her motherly embrace.

Yet nature’s remarkable touch did not impress upon me

An impression as vivid as yours.

I still remember you more than anything else.

When your noble lips caressed my hand,

It was so tender like the petals of a red, red rose.

When your dreamy eyes were in mine and mine in yours,

I saw the beauty of your soul.

When your youthful face and youthful figure first graced my life,

I felt my heart sail across the seven seas.

For you,

My forever king, my passionate heart, my eternal light,

Are the only balm to my woes and my wounds.

For you,

My undying fire, my every breath, my timeless clock,

Are not an animal of flesh,

But a creature of air.

For you,

My darling daisy, my blood for life, my sweet freedom,

Are the very thing that liberates from the shackles of oppression.

But if old age should separate us on this Earth,

If those vines of death should seal our lips shut,

If our bodies should reduce to bones,

You should know that we shall meet again,

On the Eiffel tower.
