Weighted
My heart feels weighted
Like it's gained a few pounds
From all the foods I’ve been eating
To satiate my lonely soul,
Replacing human contact
With carbohydrates.
My heart feels weighted
With all the decisions and
Expectations of the future.
My heart feels weighted
And it feels heavier than everyone else’s,
Placing last in the competition of life.
I try to run but
Tendrils of doubt,
Fear, and loneliness,
Outrun me,
Grabbing my body,
Pulling it behind.
Curse my heavy heart
For slowing me down.
