Whats in a name?
What is in a name?
Is it the way it rolls off of the tongue like sweet honey dripping from the hive
Or the sound that booms through the ears like harolds angels in harmony
What happens when your name tastes like stale ash and blood
And sounds like a band of demons scraping their talons on chalkboard
When the name does not match any perceived identity of yourself
It becomes your enemy rather than your calling card
the monster under your bed you hide from under the blanket
It's a blur of atrocities ambushing you
Stampeding you whilst you are already broken and bloody
It calls upon you harshly with grit
But soon you find another name
That tastes like sweet syrup
And sounds like a perfect chorus
But the difference between this and the last
It turns grit into glee
So what is in the name?
The name should call you home
The name should be yours and no one elses
