Here We Go Again
Oh here we go again
The feeling of being stuck in time
Like my feet are dragging in slime
I can set out a search in motion
But no matter what there will be commotion
For I have lost my contact lens again
I have asked my brothers and sisters
If they were okay with getting blisters
From running around the city, like true visitors
As we reached our neighbor’s door
We begged at their feet, on the floor
To come along on this great tour
For I have lost my contact lens again
As the police men arrive
I ask if they can drive
So I can take five
For I have been so very deprived
For I have lost my contact lens again

Hello my name is Christina and I am a senior in high school. For my independent study, I researched the optometry field and I read Optopoetry which gave me a lot of great ideas. This is just one of the poems I wrote mimicking their style. If you wear contact lenses and have ever lost on or lost your case you know how annoying it is and how hard it is to find.
