Golden
The size of her heart
The color of her fur
The way she lights up a room.
On the outside she isn’t all that perfect…
Bent tail
Big Paws
Broken ACL
But that’s not what I see.
I see the beaming, bold, blissful eyes
Hopping through the snow in the field.
The two fluffy beds stacked as a cloud
For her to sleep on.
Though we tried to get her a friend,
It scratched, bit, and barked at her.
The new “friend” wasn’t “perfect” like our Golden.
She is the best we could have asked for, all by herself.
Swinging low to the ground, her wagging tail greets me.
Despite hectic moments, quiet as a mouse, she is there.
The perfect dog hasn’t won the most shows or collected the most toys,
It’s the dog with the biggest heart
It’s the dog with golden fur
It’s the dog that is
There
For
You.
