My Love
Love was life,
Love was everything.
When it broke,
Pieces lay on the floor
They seemed big enough to glue together.
And this baby did, such as good weather.
My love left its dark nest,
But I certainly know where it went next,
To my arms, serving as a haven.
Love hurt when I pushed hard,
I could swear I saw heaven.
Life paired me with love hoping it'd last,
And I would soon know it’d be forever.
Worry was buried when love cried
and left it in the past.
Love appeared in my dreams,
And even if I woke up, they never vanished.
I wished for a purpose,
Feared for remorse,
Yet life took another course.
I looked for hope,
I looked for a change,
I drowned in my tears, in my despair.
But then she came along,
Looking at me with those hazel eyes
in the middle of the night.
She made me feel alive
Even when I was about to die.
