Beauty.

A simple term, which a complex definition

Silky blonde hair?

She has thick, wavy black hair that can hide 20 baby eggs.

She is ugly

Are her lips big?

Yes, but you can see the tiny mustache that mistakes her for a man.

She is ugly

Skinny waist?

Curvy hips like a camel's back

She is ugly

Light skin?

Dark brown skin the color of a fresh piece of wood.

She is ugly

Can’t she put in some effort? No one will ever love her then.

She can’t change it.

It only costs a bunch of pennies.

Pennies can't fix it.

Fix what?

Racism.

The author's comments:

A lot of times I question my own beauty. I wonder why I look at other girls with such jealousy and cannot feel to think that's not how others feel when they look at me. It took me a very long time to understand that Asian Women's beauty standards are set apart from others and we are seen as "ugly" for our unique features. We live in a society where we are not given the light to shine our exquisite brown skin that radiates under the sun because it is only seen beautiful to have that skin tone throughout the summer.
