Sunshine ripples and sparkles on snow like light flecks on a summer lake. It cuts through the pine trees like a child’s scissors and the blue air is very still. My footprints break the solemnity of white and the red cardinal startles me from the forest depths. The creek is a thin crust of ice and I want to play, slide, glide, glide, into eternity….
