To My Bully Who Stays in My Mind
To my bully who still stays in my mind
You broke me, showing me
people can be cruel.
And that I won’t ever be pretty.
You made me think that maybe you cared;
And I believed your lies.
I trusted you, after all you were family.
You broke that too.
The insults were real, the kindness was not.
You knew you were more fortunate than me yet
you would boast of how much you had.
I haven’t forgotten your words or the names you would call my family;
the people I love so dearly.
To my bully who stays in my mind, one day I won’t think of what you said
while I look in the mirror or when I feel like I am falling.
