Play
Small and dark
but a happy room.
Noise makers created
From anything.
Banging, clashing fun.
The wall comes down. Light
Comes in. The big room, bright.
No clanging from plastic play.
Now, big kid
Sticks, nets and action.
A big room.
Bright with energy, yelling.
Laughter, sweat. The movements
On the screen a mirror of
the new ways they play.
The room is bigger. Better.
But they miss the small dark one.
The banging, clanging.
The crazy play still in their minds.
But the memory is darker, harder to remember.
