Anxiety Through Guitar
“Can I try your guitar?” I ask nervously to my dad.
“Sure” he said, which suddenly put me in a state of happiness
When you first pick it up, you will feel the potential it holds
You will find the possibilities it will give you of another world
It will give you what you need to take a breath away from reality
Unlimited options of playing the guitar however you want
From learning new techniques such as harmonics
Or creating your own techniques to make your own unique sound
Playing each fret that creates different sounds.
In any order you like to create various songs and riffs
Or just learning ones that have already been made.
Taking it to another level by learning challenging songs
And in those songs
Learning challenging solos that show your strength
With guitar. Trying new guitars
Such as different brands or different types of guitars
Such as 7 stringed guitars, or 12 stringed guitars
You can always learn something new with the guitar
You can always create something new with the guitar
There is endless amounts of different interests
You can create with a guitar.
You can learn romantic songs, rock songs
Heavy metal songs, jazz songs
Piano songs, blues. Millions
Upon millions of choices to choose from when playing
Guitar.
“Play something for me,” some people will ask when I show my guitar.
“Okay,” I say with a nervous tone.
But this is when I choke
Anxiety takes over my body
As I try to take out a melody with the strings,
I slowly lose confidence
As I pluck the strings I can feel my fingers slowly losing memory
As I stutter trying to fix my mistakes in the song
My face turning bright red
I think to myself, “I’m not ready for this”
But then I hear my friend say, “it’s okay!”
I’m not sure how to feel,
I stand there my face burning red
I feel like there are a thousand eyes watching me
Even though it’s just one pair
