Fever Dream
My old friend,
We swore it was forever
Now I bid you a farewell
I tried to hold us together
but forever meant only an instant
and for always meant only a second
I thought I knew just who you were
But your truths just led to lies
The words you try to now take back
You never could disguise
but our laugh was just a figment
our pulse was just a ghost
And our trust was just a broken dream
Yet i still miss you the most
You replaced me just as well
and my soul is now no more
but my soul was just a fever dream
Just like the love you swore.
