Fantasy Secrets
When Icarus flew too close to the sun
While the wax was burning his delicate skin
When others saw pain
Was there a beauty that we didn’t see
When Sailors would fall for sirens
As they were lured to their death by song
When others saw monsters
Was there a deeper reason why they lured them
When people look at fairies
With the shining brightness of the glowing sun
Do others see only the outer appearance of the sparkling creature
Or do they see deeper into the darkness
When we see the heroes
The heroes that take a risk of life or death
Do we really understand the reasoning for this daring explorer
Or do we just see the outer picture of it?
When we see these tales
Of sailors, fairies, mermaids, and witches
Tales of their lives, whether they die in the process
Do we really see the whole story

What inspired me is when people cover-up. Whether it be physical or mental. I do this too, and this poem just shows that there is always something deeper.
