Forever Never
You didn’t have to go.
You chose to leave.
It’s interesting how one changes either your own life or someone else’s.
That sneaky smile you show me when you have a crazy idea. I would take your hand in mine, you would squeeze, and I would squeeze back.
Time would be like rain on a tin roof, only the important drops would make a loud enough sound to be heard. Then you disappeared like mist on a sunny day.
But I will never let you go no matter how far you travel because you are still here, just too far from my reach.
You are, and still are, a snobby annoying nosy parker.
But I don’t care because I love you.
You may not know or understand my emotions but I do understand yours.
You and I are like food and water, we need each other but too much is dangerous, and too little is weakening.
Patience is the key to our friendship and it is not healthy but it’s also not your fault. We are on our toes all the time waiting for the right moment.
I didn’t want you to go.
We needed each other.
Our age was not the barrier, it was how you came into this world.
You deserve the whole world, not just what you have. All the tears I shed and all the memories we have together will never be forgotten.
I don’t want to believe that you have left I just want you to be safe and happy and not with the people who have caused you all this pain. You and I are not the same.
That is the core of our love for each other.
You never told me what you needed, just what you wanted. But you actually needed love.
I don’t know how you are or even where you are, but if you read this in ten years, you may feel what I feel.
