Math Homework
The screen burned my eyes,
each dot like a lazer.
Words like a never-ending winding river,
flowing down the page.
Multiplication "x" signs,
like prison bars,
locking me away to a never-ending sentence.
"Due tomorrow" turns into "due in five minutes"
It seems
My brain on its last ticks
On its last turns
Until
Tick
Tick
Done.
The "turn it" button seems sweeter than candy
My heart fills with joy, as I get the satisfaction of closing my computer
Just to do it all over again tomorrow

When I wrote this poem, it was a school day, about to end in fact. I kept on checking the time, but the time to go just seemed father each time. I was also thinking about the loads of math homework I had, which sparked my insperation to write this.
