Mother Nature
I look around and see in sight,
I saw waterfalls, trees, and flowers all to my right.
The trees made me feel as if I was in the Lion King
While the flowers made me feel like a bird that needed to sing
I looked up and a branch touched the back of my head,
I turned around,
It was hanging off dead.
Everything was so bright and pretty besides that tree,
It made me feel all dark inside of me.
I felt so bad for the tree,
But I know mother nature will heal it in time
I continued to walk along
And let this time be mine
Yet all day, I couldn't stop thinking about her
Her beauty mocks me,
whispering her each and every perfect place
Words like a whip, burning my skin
She sings softly, stroking her snakes and imperfections
still so stable.
She's an angel, merely sparing us
She's a gate-keeper, with the ability to kill us
Anytime.
She is a wonder
She is Mother Nature

This poem was written in a cold but loving classroom. We, the class, were tasked to write a poem with a partner of our choosing. I partnered up with my close friend Abby. In our poem, we wanted to add in many types of figurtive language, but also other poet techniques. How did the poem come out you may ask? Well you just read it.
