A Year of Isolation
Stay home, masks up, don’t let them see your pain.
Now that everything is virtual, we’re all trying to stay sane.
Cops kill people on the streets,
Due to the color of their skin.
When life is rigged against you,
It’s hard to get a win.
Say their names, we shout.
But nothing seems to change.
Is anything worth caring about,
When hopes of justice are out of range?
In a world where injustices prevail,
Almost nothing seems fair.
Some choose to go on lavish trips,
While others find life too difficult to bear.
We put a mask over our nose and mouth, but is that really enough?
If we put a mask over our eyes as well, would life no longer seem so rough?
