I, too, sing America
I am the wacky one
They show playful concerns
But I laugh and smile
And conserve
And slowly lose the nerve

Tomorrow,
I’ll be more hidden
Nobody will need to be forgiven
Then, they’ll wonder

Besides,
They’ll see the now vividly faint affection
And feel the loss of immense connection

I, too, am America.

This is a poem inspired by the one and only Langston Hughes. I wrote this poem when I was going through problems with people that were close to me.
