Breathtaking MAG
black boot knee, power pinning me down
Can’t Breathe
raging fires overwhelm our town,
suffocating smoke
Can’t Breathe
chills, wrenching, pain, the virus has me
Can’t Breathe
with every breath,
fight to extinguish the fears that fuel hate
sacrifice for climate
love enough to wear a mask
believe
Life is Breathtaking

Hello,
Thank you for considering my poem for your publication. I am a 16 year old Junior living in Pasadena California. I've recently discovered a passion for writing poetry as an outlet for expressing my concerns, fears, and hopes during the current global climate. When I'm not writing my thoughts down, I'm usually in the kitchen cooking up a meal for my mom, dad, 2 brothers and sister or on the football field throwing the ball around. Thanks again for considering my work.
