Waking Buckshot

As the ring of the painful alarm rings

He opens his eyes for the first time

 in the morning

Hand to the alarm, and a grunt

As he forces himself up like one from the grave

He looks around to remember

He is waking up to hunt.

Even so his discontent

Is still with the alarm

As he gets his boots on

The light of the room splash onto his eyes

Waking him more, as if an alarm clock had gone off again

He leaves to the tent

As he sat down in the tent

It's as if his life transitioned into the future

He realized he had accidentally fallen asleep

He looks around to see the beautiful glitter of the snow,

As the beauty of the land engulfs him, it's as if time

Stops----

If not just for a moment,

Then the silence, here and here again

Always present

Yet never heard

The silence breaks,

Then a Buck comes through

Slow and barren,

Strong and sturdy,

Calm yet spookable

Next a doe, then a fawn, then another,

Finally a doe again and a family arrives

As they come and go again and again

A family comes and goes.

He aims down sight right over the buck,

The deep breath has to steady his aim and calm his heart,

The nerves pile up and the rush in his heart increases

And as fast as the moment came it was gone

 In one single

SHOT!---

Thuuuud....

Direct hit drops the Buck to the ground

The family scatters.

Gone they go

Come again they will

This... is Waking BuckShot
