Lucky
I laugh with him more than I do with anyone else.
I spend more time with him than any other being.
He gives me comfort,
he loves me no matter what.
His big brown eyes and black hair make up what he is, what I love.
I pat his head as he lays his chin on my knee,
I hug him whenever I feel down,
or whenever I’m overwhelmed with love for him.
He may have a wet nose,
Floppy ears, and a long tail,
But I still hold his paw in my hand,
adoring the way he smiles at me.
My heart warm and full,
as expected of man’s best friend.
