smile
You’ve got a distinctive kind of grin that makes my heart skip a beat
You know, the kind of smile where you can’t help but smile back
The kind where i look at you and think
i could watch that smile every day for the rest of my life
And when you laugh
I’m laughing too
Your loud, quick laugh that makes my stomach feel all fluttery (especially when I’m the one that made you laugh)
And when you tease me and take my lunch
Doodle in my notebook
Put my too-small glasses onto your face
I get the feeling that even if we don’t ever get the kind of love that couples do
We’re going to have one h*ll of a friendship
A friendship of laughing too loud, smiling because we can, running through the hallways, singing goofy songs, sending roses to teachers
And it makes me want to know you
Know you inside and out
Like only a best friend does
So I can be real around you
Be a goofball
Like i know you will with me
And who knows?
Friendship sometimes turns into love
And that would be just fine too.
