Why

I don’t know if you’re out there,

In the heavens or in the skies above.

My mind is killing me,

but I will show you, love.

15 is such a long chapter

And empty meanings fill the page

Society’s candle:

Burn’s me at every age.

I’ve heard stories of you,

Always a different face.

I’ve got 7 billion siblings,

So why do they all care about race?

You’re praised every day,

And some people say you live in the stars.

I think that’s absurd.

Then again I don’t really know who you are.

If you’re so perfect,

Why all the hate, discrimination, and pain?

Drugs and Violence!

It’s enough to make a kid go insane.

I’m not one to ask for help.

A lot of people just pass me by.

You’re the root and cure for anxiety,

So all I ask is why?

This poem was the build-up of several questions I had during my journey in finding myself and my spirituality.
