born in the 00s,

gen z.

they say we all want to die,

for fun.

depression?

just another excuse to

not work hard.

deep inside,

we all feel it coming,

the faceless demons lurking,

around our beds,

outside the parking lots,

beside our seats.

we fight back, everyday,

but it's not working,

at least not enough.

we say,

i dont give a damn

for any reason,

we say it for comfort and security,

as if swearing provides ultimate safety;

we listen to bad boy/girl songs,

make indifference our holy spirit,

what's next?

i'm tired of fighting back, of putting

a facade, of weeping for nothing,

of saying "i'm fine", just to act cool.

i'm not fine,

and this is not a joke.

staring at vessels passing

through the azure blue sea,

i just wanna scream.

SCREAM!

using the most basic vocabulary,

to portray what we're genuinely feeling,

and it sucks,

to be told that poems or articles like this are romanticizing illnesses,

and it sucks,

to be defeated by nothingness every time we try to get up,

SCREAM!

we are a generation of changes,

people with great missions,

and maybe that's why we have to bear pain,

after all,

roses are red, violets are blue,

you've got us, we are on the same boat.
